SUBJECT: Conduct second hearing to amend Title 2, Chapter 2.38, Section 2.38.030
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Conduct second hearing and adopt an Ordinance amending the Fresno County Ordinance Code, Title 2, Chapter 2.38, Section 2.38.030; and waive reading of Ordinance in its entirety.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will authorize the Children and Families Commission presentations of annual audits and reports to be placed on either regular or consent. Currently the Ordinance Code reads so that the annual audits and reports have to be placed on the regular portion of the Board Agendas.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may elect not to approve the recommended actions, in which case, Section 2.38.030 of the Fresno Ordinance Code will remain as currently written.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions.
DISCUSSION:
The current version of Fresno County Ordinance Code section 2.38.030(D) requires that the required presentation of the annual audit and report of the Fresno County Children and Families Commission (known as First 5 Fresno County) to the Board of Supervisors be made during a regular agenda item. The proposed amendment to Section 2.38.030(D) would allow the presentation to be placed on the Board’s agenda either as a regular agenda item or a consent agenda item.
On April 23, 2024, your Board conducted the first hearing to amend Title 2, Chapter 2.38, Section 2.38.030 of the Fresno County Ordinance Code, relating to authoring the Children and Families Commission presentations of annual audits and reports to be placed on either regular or consent.
