SUBJECT: Agreement with the City of Reedley for the Reedley Rupert and Church Reconstruction Project (CDBG 24571)
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Agreement with the City of Reedley for the Reedley Rupert and Church Reconstruction Project, Community Development Block Grant Project No. 24571, which will reconstruct existing roadway in Reedley on Rupert and Church Avenues from Dinuba to Curtis Avenue, and portions of Dinuba and Curtis Avenues between Rupert and Church Avenue, as well as install ADA compliant driveway approaches, accessible ramps and sidewalks as necessary, effective upon execution through February 7, 2026, total Community Development Block Grant funding amount not to exceed $424,530; and
2. Approve and authorize the Director of Public Works and Planning to evaluate and approve any grant timeline extensions and scope modifications for completion of the Project, as requested by the City of Reedley, in compliance with the Federal Community Development Block Grant regulations, and so long as the modifications do not change the fundamental nature of the Project.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended actions will provide Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Reedley Rupert and Church Reconstruction (Project), included in the County's 2024-25 Annual Action Plan approved by your Board on June 18, 2024. The Project cost is estimated at $550,161; the City of Reedley (City) will provide a local financial contribution of $125,631. This item pertains to a location in District 4.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may direct the City to propose a different eligible use for its CDBG funds. However, a different use would require an amendment to the 2024-25 Annual Action Plan and may impact the County's ability to meet its CDBG expenditure timelines set by the U.S. ...
