SUBJECT:                     Non-monetary donation to the Fresno County Public Library from the Friends of the Fresno County Public Library

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):

TITLE

Adopt Resolution accepting and expressing gratitude to the Friends of the Fresno County Public Library for the non-monetary donation to the Library for furniture valued at $9,934 to be utilized in the Library’s Sanger branch meeting room during FY 2025-26.

REPORT

There is no Net County Cost (NCC) associated with the recommended action. The recommended action is required to satisfy the reporting requirements under the Fresno County Board of Supervisors Administrative Policy (AP) Number 30 for donations greater than $7,500 in value. Approval of the recommended action will allow the Library to accept a donation to the Library for furniture valued at $9,934, to be utilized in the Library’s Sanger branch during FY 2025-26. The Friends of the Fresno County Public Library (FOL) donation will be used to replace the current furniture at the Library’s Sanger branch meeting room. This Item affects District 4.

 

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

 

Your Board may choose to decline the donation from FOL. If the recommended action is not approved by your Board, the furniture donation will not be accepted.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

There is no additional NCC associated with the recommended action.  Approval of the recommended action will allow the Library to accept the furniture, which will be utilized in the Library’s Sanger branch meeting room. The non-monetary value of furniture is $9,934 and includes the cost of installation.

 

DISCUSSION:

 

The FOL’s goal is to support the operations of the Library. They have done this by supporting Library programs and special projects via various donations. FOL would like to donate furniture with a value of $9,934 to replace the current worn/aged furniture that is in the Sanger branch meeting room. FOL has chosen Core, LLC as the vendor of the furniture, and the provided estimate includes the cost of installation.

 

The recommended action is required to satisfy the reporting requirements under AP 30 for donations greater than $7,500 in value.

 

DONOR DISCLOSURES:

 

To satisfy reporting requirements under AP 30 for donations greater than $7,500 in value, the following disclosures are provided:

 

                     FOL is not a County contractor or principal in a business, agency or organization providing contracted services with the County.

                     FOL is not a contractor that has bid on a County contract in the last 12 months.

                     The Library has no knowledge that the donor will bid on any County contract within the next 12 months.

                     FOL has provided a non-monetary donation of furniture valued at $9,934, to be utilized in the Library’s Sanger branch meeting room.
