SUBJECT: Amendment to Agreement with San Joaquin Glass Company
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute First Amendment to Agreement with San Joaquin Glass Company for additional glass replacement, installation, and repair services, effective upon execution with no change to the term of December 1, 2018 through November 30, 2023 and increasing the maximum by $145,000 to a total of $505,000.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will increase the maximum agreement amount to allow the Internal Services Department - Facility Services Division (ISD - Facility Services) to fulfill an increased demand for glass replacement, installation, and repair services. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Should your Board not approve the recommended action, ISD - Facility Services may not be able to fulfill work requests for glass replacement, installation, and repair services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum compensation in FY 2021-22 is $100,000; $505,000 for the term. Costs for services provided under the agreement will be recovered through charges to user departments. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the ISD - Facility Services Org 8935 FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget and will be included in future budget requests.
DISCUSSION:
On September 25, 2018, the Board approved an Agreement No. 18-548 with San Joaquin Glass Company for glass replacement, installation, and repair services. The agreement gave ISD - Facility Services the ability to fulfill work requests for services countywide and was for up to a five-year term, not to exceed $360,000. Due to unanticipated increases in demand for services, combined with the increased cost of materials, ISD - Facility Services has determined that this limit is likely to be insufficient to meet the service needs before the end of the agreement term.
Approval of the recommended action will increase the maximum compensation amount by $145,000 for a total of $505,000 over the five-year term. The recommended amendment will allow ISD - Facility Services to fulfill the increased demand for glass replacement, installation, and repair services throughout the County. All other terms of the agreement remain unchanged.
