DISCUSSION:

Your Board gave direction to the CAO to create a process for Board approval of contributing County funds to third-party events. Additionally, your Board directed the CAO to return at a later date to discuss and recommend celebrations that County departments may officially recognize or celebrate.
On July 8, 2025, Administrative Policy 80 - Department Contributions of Funds for Non-County Events or Causes, was approved by your Board ensuring that the County follows a consistent process when departments contribute funds for non-County events, causes, or anything similar.
The Department has developed important partnerships with local organizations through active participation and support of various events and celebrations. The Department uses every outreach opportunity to educate, elicit participation in support of achieving programmatic goals and promoting the health of our community.
