DATE: February 22, 2022
TO: Board of Supervisors
SUBMITTED BY: Robert W. Bash, Director, Internal Services/Chief Information Officer
SUBJECT: Agreement with Cintas Corporation No. 3
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Cintas Corporation No. 3 for rental, laundering, and delivery of uniforms and miscellaneous dust materials, effective March 7, 2022, not to exceed five consecutive years, which includes a three-year base contract and two optional one-year extensions, total not to exceed $2,500,000.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action would allow for rental, laundering, and delivery of uniforms and miscellaneous dust materials to user departments. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the Internal Services Department (ISD) - Purchasing Division will not have a replacement agreement when the current agreement expires on March 6, 2022, which could impact user departments as ISD works with ISD- Purchasing Division to competitively bid services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum compensation is $2,500,000 and actual costs will be invoiced directly to the user departments. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included within each department’s FY 2021-2022 Adopted Budgets and will be included in future budget requests by each user department.
DISCUSSION:
On December 13, 2018, Cintas Corporation entered into an agreement with OMNIA Partners’ (OMNIA) RFP R-BB-19002 for Facilities Management Products and Solutions, which was released July 17, 2018. OMNIA Partners is a cooperative purchasing organization dedicated to public sector procurement. OMNIA’s initial term began December 13, 2018, through and including October 31, 2023, with the option to renew for two additional two-year periods, upon mutual written consent of the parties to the contract.
ISD - Purchasing solicited user departments’ feedback on Cintas’ current performance of services and received favorable response. ISD - Purchasing received countywide consensus to piggyback off OMNIA Partners’ agreement, consistent with the County’s Purchasing Manual.
With your Board’s approval of the recommended action, Cintas will provide rental, laundering, and delivery of uniforms and miscellaneous dust materials.
Cintas is currently providing uniform and dust material cleaning services to the County under Agreement No. 17-061, which was approved by the Board of Supervisors on March 7, 2017 and will expire on March 6, 2022.
