SUBJECT: Approve Data Access Agreement with the California Department of Public Health
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Data Access Agreement with the California Department of Public Health, for access to the COVID-19 Dataset in Snowflake, a cloud-based data repository, effective February 22, 2022 through February 21, 2024 ($0).
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will allow the Department access to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) COVID-19 Dataset in a cloud-based data repository called Snowflake, which combines particular data elements specific to COVID-19 from the California Immunization Registries (CAIR) and the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (CalREDIE), for the County of Fresno. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There are no viable alternative actions. Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the Department will not have access to the new dataset created by CDPH to track data specifically to COVID-19 in the County of Fresno.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action.
DISCUSSION:
The Department currently uses Snowflake, a cloud-based data repository, to access COVID-19 vaccine data. CDPH has created a new dataset combining particular data elements specific to COVID-19 from CAIR and CalREDIE called COVID-19 Dataset. CDPH will be placing the COVID-19 Dataset on the Snowflake website and in order to access the additional dataset, a new Data Access Agreement with CDPH will need to be approved and signed.
