DATE: October 19, 2021
TO: Board of Supervisors
SUBMITTED BY: Robert W. Bash, Director, Internal Services/Chief Information Officer
SUBJECT: Amendment to Agreement with Geil Enterprises, Inc.
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute First Amendment to Agreement No. 18-652 with Geil Enterprises, Inc. for alarm system - maintenance, repair, inspection, and monitoring services extending the term by one year from November 5, 2021 to November 4, 2022 and increasing the maximum by $50,000 to a total of $279,000.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will allow Internal Services Department - Security Division (ISD - Security) to support alarm systems at county facilities funded through departmental chargebacks. The increased funding will address added Library and Department of Public Works and Planning system services. The amendment extends the agreement one additional year to continue to align this agreement with the expiration of all other alarm maintenance, repair, and inspection agreements so that they may be acquired in a similar manner once all three have expired and to add the electronic signatures clause. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If your Board does not approve the recommended action, the agreement will expire on November 5, 2021, and while a new Request for Quotation is published and reviewed through ISD - Purchasing, additional cost and time may result in a lapse of services creating security vulnerabilities should an alarm system malfunction.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The recommended amendment will increase compensation from $229,000 to $279,000. The agreement is funded through departmental chargebacks. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the ISD - Security's FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget and will be included in the FY 2022-23 budget request.
