SUBJECT: Salary Resolution Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve Amendment to the Salary Resolution deleting 3 vacant positions, reinstating an Assistant Chief Probation Officer position, and increasing allocations in Probation Org 3430, effective December 23, 2024; as reflected in Appendix I;
2. Approve Amendment to the Salary Resolution deleting 20 vacant positions from Probation Org 3440, effective December 23, 2024, as reflected in Appendix I;
3. Approve Amendment to the Salary Resolution transferring an existing filled Deputy Chief Probation Officer position from Probation Org 3440 to Probation Org 3430, effective December 23, 2024; as reflected in Appendix I; and
4. Approve Amendment to the Salary Resolution transferring existing vacant positions from Probation Org 3430 to Probation Org 3440, effective December 23, 2024; as reflected in Appendix I.
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the approval of the recommended actions. Approval of the first recommended action will delete one vacant Program Technician I/II position, one vacant Office Assistant I/II position, and one vacant Juvenile Correctional Officer I/II position from Probation Org 3430 due to a loss of funding. Additionally, it will reinstate the Assistant Chief Probation Officer classification, add an allocation within Group 2, and introduce an additional Program Manager allocation in Group 8 to be utilized for departmental operational needs. Approval of the second recommended action will delete five vacant Senior Juvenile Correctional Officer positions and fifteen vacant Juvenile Correctional Officer I/II positions from Probation Org 3440, addressing a historically high vacancy rate and reducing the high budgeted salary savings in Org 3440.
