SUBJECT: Retroactive First Amendment to Agreement with the City of Sanger
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a retroactive First Amendment to Agreement No. 24-581 with the City of Sanger to continue to assign one sworn Police Officer to the Public Safety Realignment Adult Compliance Team, effective July 1, 2025, with no change in the Agreement term of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2029, and increasing the Agreement maximum by $246,604 to a total of $482,035.
REPORT
The City of Sanger will continue to provide one sworn Police Officer to participate as a member of the Public Safety Realignment Act (Assembly Bill 109) Adult Compliance team (ACT). The Agreement requires an annual budget approval from the Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) executive committee to ensure continued funding. Therefore, an item will be brought to the Board each year for final approval to ensure the necessary funds are allocated. Although the recommended Amendment is with the City of Sanger, which is in District Four, this item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended action is not approved, the ACT will not include a Police Officer from the City of Sanger.
RETROACTIVE AGREEMENT:
The recommended Amendment is retroactive to July 1, 2025, due to you Board's approval of the County's FY 2025-26 budget on September 15, 2025, which included the Department's allocation for the recommended Amendment. The City of Sanger executed the recommended Amendment in September of 2025, and it is being brought before your Board on the first available date within the agenda item processing deadline.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The amount of $246,604 for the recommended Amendment is fully funded with AB 109 funds received from the State of California. Sufficient appropriations and estimate...
