SUBJECT: Appointment of the Board of Supervisors to the California
State Association of Counties (CSAC) for 2023-2024
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Appoint a Member and Alternate of the Board of Supervisors to the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Board of Directors for 2023-2024 and direct the Clerk of the Board to provide notification to CSAC.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
The appointments are at the discretion of the Board.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in net county cost association with this action.
DISCUSSION:
Every year, the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) has requested the Board of Supervisors to designate two members to serve as its representative and alternate on the CSAC Board of Directors (attached for your review is the letter from CSAC). Under provisions of the CSAC Constitution, members of the Board of Directors and alternates are nominated by their respective boards of supervisors and appointed by the Executive Committee to one-year terms of office commencing with the first day of the CSAC Annual Conference. This year, the conference will begin on November 13, 2023. Any member of the Board of Supervisors is eligible for the directorship. Supervisor Mendes currently represents your Board on the CSAC Board of Directors and Supervisor Magsig serves as the alternate.
