SUBJECT: Budget Resolution for Capital Projects
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt Budget Resolution increasing the FY 2025-26 appropriations and estimated revenues for Public Works and Planning Capital Projects Org 43601150 in the amount of $7,439,300 for the on-going construction of the Brix-Mercer basement project (4/5 vote).
REPORT
The recommended action would provide the necessary appropriations to fund the on-going construction of the Brix-Mercer basement project. This pertains to a location in District 3.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may reject the recommended action, in which case the on-going project would not have enough appropriations to continue with construction.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase to Net County Cost. The funds for the project will be reimbursed from the Department of Public Health (DPH). The recommended action will increase appropriations and estimated revenues in the Department of Public Works and Planning (PWP) Org 43601150 for the on-going construction of the Brix-Mercer basement project located at 1221 Fulton Street, Fresno, CA, 93721.
DISCUSSION:
Interdepartmental Agreement No. 24-588 between PWP, DPH, and Department of Internal Services (now known as Department of General Services) was approved by the Board on November 5, 2024, for the Brix-Mercer basement project located at 1221 Fulton Street. The total cost of this project is estimated to be $10,400,000 with an estimated completion date of late fall 2026. PWP will be reimbursed by DPH as costs are incurred. The recommended action will increase appropriations and estimated revenues in Org 43601150 in the amount of $7,439,300 for costs to be incurred in FY 2025-26. Additional appropriations will be included in future budget requests as needed until the project is completed.
