SUBJECT: Salary Resolution Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve Amendment to the Salary Resolution reformatting Section 100 - Definitions and Section 100 - Alphabetical Position Listing, effective February 19, 2024, as reflected on Appendix “A”.
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will allow the Department of Human Resources to update the Fresno County Salary Resolution by enhancing functionality and legibility of Section 100 - Alphabetical Position Listing to better serve operational needs.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If your Board were not to approve the recommended action, the Salary Resolution would remain unchanged.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions.
DISCUSSION:
The Department of Human Resources has conducted a comprehensive review of Salary Resolution Section 100 - Definitions and Section 100 - Alphabetical Position Listing and recommends implementing formatting changes that will significantly enhance functionality and legibility as delineated below:
• Update the column “Salary Range” to “Biweekly Step 1” and add “Biweekly Top Step” column;
• Remove the “Monthly Equivalent” columns;
• Replace the symbols for the step system with the top step number and naming the column “# of Steps”;
• Add commas between footnotes;
• Add “Med” to the “Grp” column to indicate this is for Medical Groups;
• Make corresponding updates to Section 100 - Definitions.
Approval of the recommended action will assist with streamlining information, ensuring clarity, and improving overall accessibility of the Salary Resolution.
