1. SUBJECT: Budget Resolution and Budget Transfer for Vehicle Purchase

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2025-26 appropriations and estimated revenues for General Service Department Org 8911 in the amount of $133,500 for the purchase of three (3) vehicles (4/5 vote); and
2. Approve and Authorize the Clerk of the Board to execute Budget Transfer No. 53 transferring FY 2025-26 appropriations from Department of Public Health Org 5620 ($133,500), from account 7295 (Professional & Specialized Services), 7265 (Office Expense), 7412 (Mileage), and 7345 (Facility Services) to account 7910 (Operating Expenses Transfer Out), in the amount of $133,500 to fund the purchase of three (3) vehicles for the Environmental Health Division.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the first recommended action will increase appropriation and estimated revenues in Org 8911 for the purchase of vehicles for the Environmental Health Division's Dairy Inspection, Solid Waste Enforcement, and Consumer Protection Unit and for the Fresno County Animal Shelter. Approval of the second recommended action will approve and authorize a budget transfer transferring funds in the amount of $133,500 to purchase replacement vehicles for the Environmental Health Division. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board could choose not to approve the recommended actions deferring the purchase of replacement vehicles; however, this delay will likely result in higher maintenance costs and fewer vehicles. This would cause delays to response times of the Consumer Protection Unit, Solid Waste Enforcement, and Dairy Inspections.
