SUBJECT: Amendment to Agreement with Centro La Familia Advocacy Services, Inc.

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Amendment No. 3 to Agreement with Centro La Familia Advocacy Services, Inc. for administration of the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids Housing Support Program extending the term by 13 months from June 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 and increasing the maximum compensation by $853,125 to a total of $3,135,345.
REPORT
The recommended action will extend the term of the agreement with Centro La Familia Advocacy Services, Inc. (CLFA) by 13 months to allow the Department of Social Services (DSS) to continue augmenting funds for homeless services, including rapid rehousing assistance and related supportive services to eligible homeless families. There is no additional Net County Cost as services are funded by the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) Housing Support Program (HSP) allocation. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board elect not to approve the recommended action, this agreement with CLFA will expire on May 31, 2024, and services to CalWORKs families experiencing homelessness will cease at the current scale.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The agreement ($3,135,345) will be fully funded with the CalWORKs HSP Allocation. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the Department's Org 5610 FY 2023-24 Adopted Budget and will be included in subsequent budget requests.
