SUBJECT: Agreement with the Central California Food Bank (CDBG CV19251)
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize Chairman to execute an Agreement with the Central California Food Bank for the Food Distribution, Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act Community Development Block Grant Project No. CV19251, effective upon execution through September 30, 2023, and authorize the Director of Public Works and Planning to determine and grant timeline extensions for completion of the Project. ($32,216)
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide additional Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-CV) funding for the Central California Food Bank Food Distribution (Project). The funds are needed to provide food through the Central California Food Bank (CCFB) for low and moderate-income citizens impacted by COVID-19 in various eligible unincorporated communities in Fresno County including, but not limited to: Cantua Creek, Caruthers, Del Rey, Five Points, Lanare, Laton, Malaga, Raisin City, Riverdale, and Tranquility, as well as in the City of Selma. These additional funds are available from the County's CDBG-CV allocation included in the County's 2019-2020 Action Plan. The total Project cost is estimated at $32,216. This item pertains to locations Countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may reject the recommended action and direct the Department of Public Works and Planning staff to use the funds for a different eligible CDBG-CV activity. However, rejection may impact the County's ability to meet its CDBG-CV expenditure timelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
FISCAL IMPACT:
