SUBJECT: Sheriff's Office 96640 Fargo HDP5000e Dual-Side Card Printer
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Clerk of the Board to execute Budget Transfer No. 49 transferring FY 2025-26 appropriations in the amount of $7,000 from Account 7415 (Trans, Travel & Education) to Account 8300 (Equipment), Program 92086, within the Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator Org 31112104 for the purchase of one (1) 96640 Fargo HDP5000e dual-side card printer.
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will transfer existing FY 2025-26 appropriations from Org 31112104, Account 7415 (Trans, Travel & Education) to Account 8300 (Equipment) to cover the unanticipated purchase of a dual-side card printer. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended action is not approved, the Sheriff's Office will not be able to purchase a replacement dual-side card printer that is no longer working as the equipment is wore out and outdated to repair.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will transfer $7,000 in existing FY 2025-26 appropriations from Org 31112104, Account 7415 (Trans, Travel & Education) to Account 8300 (Equipment), Program 92086.
DISCUSSION:
Approval of the recommended action will allow the Sheriff's Office to transfer funds to Account 8300 (Equipment) to accommodate the purchase of a dual-side card printer to print both new and renewal CCW ID Cards that are sent to the card holders. The Sheriff's Office has printed about 40,000 cards for the use of the printer. California Business Machines (CBM) came out to check on the equipment and stated that the heads were wore out due to age and usage, and recommended that the equipment needed to be replaced.
