SUBJECT: Statement of Vote for the June 2, 2026, Consolidated Statewide Primary Election
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Receive the Certified Statement of Vote for the June 2, 2026, Consolidated Statewide Primary Election; and
2. Declare elected or nominated candidates to each office voted on at the June 2, 2026, Consolidated Statewide Primary Election under the Board's jurisdiction with majority vote totals and the results of each measure voted on in each consolidated election.
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. The June 2, 2026 Consolidated Statewide Primary Election was certified to the California Secretary of State on June 26, 2026. Pursuant to California Elections Code sections 15302(h) and 15372 the County Clerk/Registrar of Voters is to report the final results (Certified Statement of Votes Cast) to the Board of Supervisors and the Secretary of State upon completion of the Official Canvass. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There are no viable alternative actions. California Elections Code sections 15302(h) and 15372 require the County Clerk/Registrar of Voters to report final election results to the Board of Supervisors. California Elections Code section 15400 requires the Board of Supervisors to declare, elected or nominated, the person(s) having the highest number of votes for a contest under its jurisdiction and the results of each measure voted on under its jurisdiction. These duties as ministerial and nondiscretionary.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the recommended actions is required under California Elections Code.
