RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and Authorize the Chairman to execute an Amendment to Agreement with B.I. Incorporated, dba BI Correctional Services, Incorporated to increase the number of daily and annual participants served in the Reentry Employment Readiness Program, effective March 28, 2023, with no change to the term of February 1, 2021 through January 31, 2026 and increasing the maximum by $698,244 to a total of $2,401,484.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will allow B.I. Incorporated (BI) to increase the number of daily and annual participants served in the Reentry Employment Readiness Program as all costs are fully offset with the Public Safety Realignment Act (AB 109) revenue. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If the recommended action is not approved, the Reentry Employment Readiness Program will continue to provide services at the current participant level.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The increased costs of $698,244 for services provided under the recommended amendment are fully offset with AB 109 revenue. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget for Probation Org 3430 and will be included in future budget requests.

DISCUSSION:

On January 26, 2021, your Board approved an agreement with BI to provide evidence-based reentry employment services to in and out of custody adult offenders, on probation and/or in the Probation Department's Pretrial program as well as those in the Justice Accountability Grant (JAG) Adult Re-entry Planning Program (ARPP).
