TITLE

1.                     Approve salary adjustments of approximately 2% for Deputy County Counsel I/II/III/IV/Senior, effective July 11, 2022; and

REPORT

There is a $32,240 increase in Net County Cost (NCC) associated with the recommended actions for FY 2022-23. Approval of the recommended actions would serve to re-establish parity of the identified classifications with their represented counterparts, as well as to maintain current salary spreads between subordinate and supervisory classifications.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If your Board were not to approve the recommended actions, salaries for the affected classifications would remain unchanged.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The total estimated cost of the recommended actions for FY 2022-23 is approximately $80,594; $32,240 of which is NCC. Impacted department appropriations will be monitored and adjustments will be brought to your Board prior to fiscal year-end, if needed.

DISCUSSION:

Approval of the recommended actions would authorize a salary increase of approximately 2% for the classifications of Deputy County Counsel I/II/III/IV (MGT), and Senior Deputy County Counsel (SMG), effective July 11, 2022.  The recommended salary increases would serve to re-establish parity of the identified classifications with their represented counterparts, as well as to maintain current salary spreads between subordinate and supervisory classifications.
