SUBJECT: Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Reedley
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Reedley to provide space on the County's Reedley Radio Tower to improve emergency dispatch accuracy and accessibility for the City of Reedley Police Department, effective upon execution, not to exceed ten consecutive years, which includes a five-year base contract and one optional five-year extension ($0).
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Reedley and the County, allowing the City of Reedley Police Department to utilize space on the County's Reedley Radio Tower (Reedley Tower) to enhance emergency dispatch, accessibility, and public safety. This item pertains to District 4.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Should your Board choose not to approve the recommended action, the City of Reedley will not be allowed to access or use space on the Reedley Tower.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended MOU does not include an exchange of funds and will grant the City of Reedley access to the Reedley Tower.
DISCUSSION:
The County owns a 250-foot above-ground tower at the Public Works and Planning Road Maintenance and Operations Yard located at 17626 Manning Avenue, Reedley, California, 93654.
