SUBJECT: Second Amendment to Agreement No. A-24-085 with California Health and Human Services, Office of Youth and Community Restoration for Transition to Less Restrictive Programs Grant
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Second Amendment to Agreement No. A-24-085 with the California Health and Human Services, Office of Youth and Community Restoration for the Less Restrictive Programs Grant (Grant No. 2023-349-OYCR), to extend the term from January 1, 2028, to July 31, 2028, with no change to the compensation maximum ($2,000,000).
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR) Less Restrictive Programs (LRP) Grant funding allows for development and support of LRPs, pursuant to Welfare & Institutions Code section 875(f)(1). The recommended action will extend the term of the existing grant agreement with OYCR, as previously amended, by seven months. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended action is not approved, the amendment will be returned to OYCR unexecuted, and the County will forfeit any grant funding not utilized by December 31, 2027. The loss of these grant funds will result in the County being financially responsible for developing and supporting youth transitioning to less restrictive programs, as required by Welfare & Institutions Code section 875(f)(1), without additional financial assistance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum compensation of $2,000,000 for the grant agreement is unchanged.
