SUBJECT: Fresno County Foster Care Standards and Oversight Committee Amended Bylaws
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve the Amended Bylaws of the Fresno County Foster Care Standards and Oversight Committee.
REPORT
The Fresno County Foster Care Standards and Oversight Committee (FCFCSOC) approved amendments to its Bylaws by a unanimous vote during its June 4, 2025 meeting. The amended Bylaws must now go before your Board for approval pursuant to the terms of the existing Bylaws. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may choose not to approve the Recommended Action. Should your Board choose not to approve the Recommended Action, the Bylaws will not be amended and will remain as when they were last amended by the Board in September 2019.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action.
DISCUSSION:
Created by the Fresno County Board of Supervisors in 2001, the purpose of the FCFCSOC is to exercise oversight and review of systems and services which affect children in foster care. More specifically, the FCFCSOC advises and makes recommendations for continuous and lasting systems improvements and provides a forum to promote communication between the Board, the Department of Social Services Child Welfare Services and its related agencies, and the community, with emphasis on providing information and recommendations that make the system more effective and efficient.
On June 4, 2025, the FCFCSOC voted unanimously to amend their existing Bylaws.
