SUBJECT: No Parking Signs on East Kings Canyon Road, east of South Temperance Avenue

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt a Resolution authorizing No Parking signs on East Kings Canyon Road east of South Temperance Avenue and direct the Director of the Department of Public Works and Planning to install said No Parking signs.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the installation of No Parking signs at this location, which are appropriate due to law enforcement concerns and citizen reports of property damage. The signs will improve traffic safety by reminding motorists that parking on the road is prohibited, guiding traffic, and prohibiting motorists from bringing a vehicle to a complete stop upon the road so as to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, unless parking is necessary for safe operation or in compliance with the law. The distance along E. Kings Canyon Road, east from S. Temperance Avenue is less than 1/2 mile. This item pertains to a location in District 5.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If the recommended action is not approved by your Board, the signs will not be installed on E. Kings Canyon Road and parking trucks may continue to damage property and local traffic will continue to be obstructed or impeded.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The estimated cost is $2,500 for materials and $2,500 for equipment and labor that will be performed by Department of Public Works and Planning personnel. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the Department's Roads Org 4510 FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget.
