SUBJECT: Addendum to Memorandum of Understanding for Representation Unit 22 - Professional, Para-Professional & Technical Employees
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Representation Unit 22 - Professional, Para-Professional & Technical Employees, represented by the Service Employees International Union, effective November 14, 2022; and
2. Approve the related Salary Resolution Amendment, as reflected on Appendix "D".
REPORT
There is a $9,660 increase in Net County Cost (NCC) associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the recommended actions would effectuate a 5% equity increase for the Cadastral Technician I/II/III series, effective November 14, 2022. There are no other changes to the terms and conditions of the Unit 22 MOU previously approved by your Board on January 18, 2022.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If your Board were not to approve the recommended action, there would be no change to terms and conditions of the current Unit 22 MOU.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total year-over-year cost of the recommended actions is approximately $13,799; $9,660 of which is NCC, primarily over fiscal years 2022-23 and 2023-24. Impacted department appropriations for fiscal year 2022-23 will be monitored and budget adjustments will be brought to your Board prior to fiscal year end, if needed. Sufficient appropriations will be included in the impacted departments' FY 2023-24 budget requests.
DISCUSSION:
On January 18, 2022, your Board approved a successor MOU for Representation Unit 22 (Professional, Para-Professional & Technical Employees), represented by the Service Employees International Union.
