DATE: January 28, 2025
TO: Board of Supervisors
SUBMITTED BY: Hollis Magill, Director of Human Resources
SUBJECT: Salary Resolution Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve Amendment to the Salary Resolution establishing the Probation Social Worker classification series, and laterally reclassifying three (3) Social Worker I/II/III to Probation Social Worker I/II/III within the Probation Department, effective February 3, 2025, as reflected in Appendix "F".
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost (NCC) associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action would establish a new Probation Social Worker series and laterally reclassify the Social Worker series to Probation Social Worker series within the Probation Department.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If your Board were not to approve the recommended action, the existing classification series would remain unchanged and will not be laterally reclassified to the Probation Social Worker series.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in NCC associated with the recommended action and sufficient appropriations are included in the Org 3430 FY 2024-25 Adopted Budget. The impacted positions would be laterally reclassified, resulting in no change to salaries.
DISCUSSION:
The Probation Department requested the establishment of the Probation Social Worker series to better meet departmental needs and provide a more specific classification series. Approval of the recommended action would establish the Probation Social Worker series (Probation Social Worker I/II/III) and would laterally reclassify the Social Worker positions to Probation Social Worker positions. This will result in zero net position additions in the Probation Department.
This action affects three (3) Social Worker I/II/III which would be laterally reclassified to Probation Social Worker I/II/III, with no change to salaries.
