SUBJECT: Agreement with the California Department of Housing and

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Standard Agreement with the California Department of Housing and Community Development for funds from Round 6 of the Transitional Housing Program and Round 3 of the Housing Navigation and Maintenance Program, effective upon execution by the State, through five years from the effective date, total not to exceed $1,331,235.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the Department to receive funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for programs designed to assist youth, age 18-24 years old, with securing and maintaining housing. There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board choose not to approve the recommended action, the Department would forfeit $766,206 in Transitional Housing Program (THP) funds and $565,029 in Housing Navigation and Maintenance Program (HNMP) funds that are current planned for upcoming services. Without these funds, current housing and support programs for young adults would be unable to continue at their current capacity.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. If approved, the Department would receive $766,206 in THP and $565,029 in HNMP funding that must be expended by June 30, 2027. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues will be included in the Department's Org 5610 FY 2025-26 Recommended Budget.

DISCUSSION:
