Approve the correction to Board Agenda Item #32, January 6, 2026
REPORT
The item corrects a typographical error appearing in Board Agenda Item (BAI) #32 on the January 6, 2026 Board of Supervisor’s agenda. The typographical error reflected an incorrect dollar amount for the claim for damages submitted by Evelyn Ramos, where “Claimant claims in excess of $1,000,000” should have read “Claimant claims in excess of $35,000 (the jurisdictional amount for limited civil cases).”
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There is no viable alternative action. Approval of the item will correct the record for BAI #32 on the January 6, 2026 Board of Supervisor’s agenda.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this recommended action.
DISCUSSION:
On January 6, 2026, the Board approved via Consent Agenda, BAI #32. After subsequent review and reconciliation of the information included in the BAI versus the corresponding Resolutions, it was discovered that there was an error in the amount claimed by claimant Evelyn Ramos. The item incorrectly reflected that Evelyn Ramos claimed “in excess of $1,000,000.” The amount claimed should read “in excess of $35,000 (the jurisdictional amount for limited civil cases)” and is in reference to Resolution No. 26-012.
