SUBJECT: Resolution Designating Fresno Arts Council as a Local Partner

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt Resolution designating the Fresno Arts Council to serve as the County of Fresno's local partner with the California Arts Council for FY 2025-26.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will adopt a resolution designating the Fresno Arts Council (FAC) to serve as the County's local partner with the California Arts Council (CAC) for FY 2025-26, which will enable the FAC to submit a new CAC grant application for FY 2025-26 State and Local Partnership Program (SLPP) funding.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If the resolution is not adopted, the FAC would not be able to apply for SLPP funding through the CAC. A resolution that demonstrates support of the FAC by the County is required by CAC, and has been requested by FAC.

The recommended action has no fiscal impact on the County of Fresno. Any grant funds would be distributed directly to the FAC to offset its program expenditures.

Approval of the recommended action will allow the FAC to submit a new CAC grant application for FY 2025-26 SLPP funding, which has ranged from $45,000 to $90,000 per year. The FAC is able to leverage this funding to provide earned income opportunities for the creative workforce of Fresno County, such as accessing national endowments for the arts funds to support rural art projects thro...
