RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve community outreach expenditure of $15,000 to sponsor and support the Fresno Sheriff's Memorial Foundation, per Administrative Policy No. 75.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of this item is for the expenditure of $15,000 to sponsor and support the Fresno Sheriff's Memorial Foundation's efforts to fund scholarships, provide resources for those in need, establish an endowment, educational curriculum for student tours, as well as long-term sustainability of the Memorial Center. The Memorial Center honors members of the Fresno County Sheriff's Office who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty, support their family's needs, and pay tribute to their sacrifice. This item was approved by County Counsel as an appropriate expenditure as outlined in Administrative Policy No. 75.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board can choose not to approve a community outreach expenditure from District 2 to sponsor and support the Fresno Sheriff's Memorial Foundation.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Sufficient appropriations are included in Board of Supervisors Org, 0110 FY 2025-2026 Adopted Budget.
DISCUSSION:
On August 8, 2017, your Board approved Administrative Policy No. 75 to allow individual Supervisors to expend portions of their individual budgets for community outreach services and programs.
On March 11, 2025, your Board approved a revision to Administrative Policy No. 75 to require Board approval on non-county business donations in excess of $1,500.
