SUBJECT: Approve Third Amendment to Agreement with The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Third Amendment to Agreement with The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco to revise the scope of work for COVID-19 and other communicable disease services, extending the term of the existing Agreement by thirteen months from April 15, 2023 to May 31, 2024 and increasing the maximum compensation by $2,672,005 to a total of $11,559,047.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will continue the provision of COVID-19 vaccination, testing, and therapy, and the provision to screen, vaccinate, and treat other communicable diseases. The recommended action will also add additional compensation to The Regents of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Agreement to accommodate the provision of existing services through May 31, 2024. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

There are no viable alternative actions. Should your Board choose not to approve the recommended action, services provided under the agreement will end on April 14, 2023, resulting in the loss of critical response efforts that provide services for COVID-19 and other communicable diseases to the vulnerable population in the community.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The agreement will continue to be funded by the COVID-19 Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) funding, Immunization Local Assistance funding, and any other funding made available through legislative action for COVID-19 response efforts.
