SUBJECT: Agreement with Alert Medical Training, Inc.

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Alert Medical Training, Inc. for a Rural Emergency Medical Technician Training Program, effective upon execution through June 30, 2027, which includes two optional one-year extensions, total not to exceed $300,000.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will allow the Department of Public Health (Department) to contract with Alert Medical Training, Inc. ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

There are no viable alternative actions. Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the Department would be unable to implement this Rural EMT Training Program in rural, underserved populations in the County of Fresno.

There is no increase Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum amount of the recommended agreement ($300,000) will be fully offset by a mix of Future of Public Health (FoPH) Funding and Perinatal Equity Initiative (PEI) grant funding, as long as those funds are available to the County from the California Department of Public Health. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues will be included in the Department's Org 5620 FY2024-25 Recommended Budget and will be included in future budget requests for the duration of the contract.
