SUBJECT: Addendum to Memorandum of Understanding for Representation Unit 2
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve an Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Representation Unit 2 - Sheriff’s and Probation Personnel, represented by the Fresno County Public Safety Association, effective December 9, 2024.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action would effectuate the tentatively agreed upon terms and conditions as delineated herein regarding the Addendum to the MOU for the above-named representation unit, effective December 9, 2024. There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. There are no other changes to the terms and conditions of the current MOU approved by your Board.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If your Board were not to approve the recommended action, there would be no change to the terms and conditions of the current MOU.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no net County Cost associated with the recommended action.
DISCUSSION:
Your Board approved a successor MOU for Representation Unit 2 (Sheriff’s and Probation Personnel) on July 12, 2022. In an effort to address severe staffing shortages during hours of peak activity at the jail, the recommended action would:
Ø Change the Watch III start time of eight-hour work schedules for Correctional Officers from 2:00 P.M. to 10:00 A.M. The Watch I and Watch II start times of 6:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M. would remain unchanged.
