SUBJECT: First Amendment to Agreement No.19-249 with Quinn Company to perform maintenance and repairs on landfill equipment at American Avenue Disposal Site (AADS)
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize Chairman to execute a retroactive First Amendment to Agreement with Quinn Company for landfill equipment maintenance and repair services, effective July 1, 2022, with no change to the term of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024 and increasing the maximum by $1,000,000 to a total of $6,000,000.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will increase the maximum of the agreement with Quinn Company (Quinn) to perform maintenance and repairs on landfill equipment at American Avenue Disposal Site (AADS) for the last two years of the agreement. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There are no viable alternative actions, the landfill equipment requiring maintenance and repair service are necessary for the continuation of operation of at AADS.
RETROACTIVE AGREEMENT:
The recommended amendment is retroactive to July 1, 2022 to allow an increase to the annual contract maximum to the last two years of the contract due to increase in maintenance and repair cost and unexpected high number of costly repairs. Expenditures for FY 2022-23 have been exceeded by $79,909.31, and there are two pending invoices of $27,357.06 and $198,977.03 totaling $226,334.09 that will be paid upon approval of the recommended action.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum compensation for FY 2022-23 will increase by $500,000 and FY 2023-24 will increase by $500,000, increasing the total for the contract term to $6,000,000.
