SUBJECT: Amendments to Conflict of Interest Code for One Agency
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve amendments to Conflict of Interest Code for Fresno County Fire Protection District.
REPORT
The Fresno County Fire Protection District has created an Executive Officer position requiring a change to the District’s Conflict of Interest (COI) Code. There is no Net County Cost. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may approve the COI Code as submitted, revise the proposed COI Code and approve it as revised, or return the proposed COI Code to the agency for revision and resubmission. If amendments are not approved, the agency will not be able to comply with the Government Code section 87306.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with this action.
DISCUSSION:
As required by Government Code section 87306, the Fresno County Fire Protection District amended their COI Code to include the newly created position of Executive Director.
Amendments to local agency COI Codes are authorized by section 87306 of the Government Code whenever changes are required by changed circumstances, by creation or deletion of designated positions, or by changes in the duty of such positions. The proposed COI Code as amended is lawful under the Political Reform Act of 1974. Pursuant to sections 82011 and 87303 of the Government Code, the Board of Supervisors is the code reviewing body and may approve the COI Code as submitted, revise the proposed COI Code and approve it as revised, or return the proposed COI Code to the agency for revision and resubmission.
