SUBJECT: Purchase of Homeland Security Equipment and Third Amendment to Agreement with Hitachi Vantara LLC for the Installation and Maintenance of the Video Infrastructure Protection Program

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Third Amendment to Agreement No. 17-049, DPA Agreement No. FCSO32416 with Hitachi Vantara LLC, effective May 25, 2021, with no change in the term to March 31, 2022, and increasing the maximum by $700,000 to $1,900,000;
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2020-21 appropriations and estimated revenues for Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator Org 3111 in the amount of $305,000 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. The Sheriff's Office was awarded additional grant funds of $330,000 from the State Homeland Security Protection (SHSP) program in order to provide additional visual/video security to specified locations throughout Fresno County. The first recommended action will amend the name of the contractor in this agreement, as amended, from Hitachi Vantara Corporation to Hitachi Vantara LLC, and approve an increase to the maximum compensation amount of the agreement with Hitachi Vantara LLC to allow for the installation of additional equipment and to provide maintenance and support of the new and existing equipment. The second recommended action increases appropriations and estimated revenues in the amount of $305,000 for the purchase of additional equipment and services using SHSP funding. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Non-approval of the recommended actions will result in the loss of the grant funds authorized for this project and impact the ability to expand security to critical locations.
