SUBJECT: Agreement with the State of California Employment Development Department

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Agreement with the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD) to provide employment information to the Sheriff's Office for the purpose of obtaining current employment data for felony victims, suspects, missing persons, potential witnesses, or persons for whom a felony arrest warrant has been issued from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2028 in the amount of $1,934.

REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will allow the Sheriff's Office to obtain employment data for both victims and suspects, to enable the Sheriff's Office to contact victims and suspects at work during investigations. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

There is no alternative action. If your Board does not approve the recommended action, the Sheriff's Office will not be able to obtain employment data for felony victims, suspects, missing persons, potential witnesses, or persons for whom a felony arrest warrant has been issued.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action; costs incurred as a result of utilizing the recommended agreement are not to exceed $1,934 for the three-year term for January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2028. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the Department's FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget for Org 3111 and will be included in future budget requests.
