RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the County Administrative Officer to sign, on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, the required documents and certifications required by the United States Department of Treasury to secure Fresno County's portion of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funds.
REPORT
On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) was signed into law with the goal to accelerate the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The County will receive approximately $194.1 million in ARP funds from the United State Department of Treasury. Fifty percent of the funding will be paid within 60 days of the ARP enactment and the remaining 50% will be paid within 12 months of the first payment. To receive the funding, the County must, in part, agree to use the funds for uses allowed by the ARP, comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and sign an assurance of compliance with civil rights requirements. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If the recommended action is not approved, the County of Fresno would not receive the ARP funding

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with this item. The County will receive approximately $194.1 million in ARP funds from the United State Treasury Department. Fifty percent of the funding will be paid within 60 days of the ARP enactment and the remaining 50% will be paid within 12 months of the first payment. As recommended uses of the funds are identified, they will be brought to your Board for review and approval.
