RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve community outreach expenditure of $2,500 to support the Gospel & R&B in the Park community event hosted by Oppurtunity Bridges for the Future, per Administrative Policy No. 75.
REPORT
Approval of this item is for the expenditure of $2,500 to support the Gospel & R&B in the Park community event hosted by Oppurtunity Bridges for the Future (a 501 (c)(3) non-profit), in partnership with Saint Rest Baptist Church and Community Partners, at Kearney Park on Saturday, April 11, 2026. This item was approved by County Counsel as an appropriate expenditure as outlined in Administrative Policy No. 75.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board can choose not to authorize support of District 1 to the Oppurtunity Bridges for the Future Gospel & R&B in the Park event.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Sufficient appropriations are included in the Board of Supervisors Org 0110 FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget.
DISCUSSION:
On August 8, 2017, the Board approved Administrative Policy No. 75 to allow individual Supervisors to expend portions of their individual budgets for community outreach services and programs.
On March 11, 2025, your Board approved a revision to Administrative Policy No. 75 to require Board approval on non-county business donations in excess of $1,500.
Oppurtunity Bridges for the Future is a non-profit serving southwest Fresno in cooperation with Saint Rest Baptist Church and Community Partners. Approval of the recommended action will help Oppurtunity Bridges for the Future to conduct its Gospel & R&B in the Park concert event in Kearney Park.
This expenditure was sent to County Counsel for review and approval. County Counsel deemed it an appropriate expenditure under Administrative Policy No. 75 guidelines.
