SUBJECT: Agreement with LA County - Automatic License Plate Recognition

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Retroactively approve, ratify, and authorize the Sheriff, or his designee, to execute the agreement between Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office and Fresno County Sheriff's Office for Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) equipped law enforcement agencies to share law enforcement information, executed on November 19, 2019, which may be terminated by giving the other Agency Party at least ten (10) days written notice.
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will retroactively approve and ratify the Sheriff, or his designee's signature on the agreement, which was fully executed on November 19, 2019 between Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Office for ALPR equipped law enforcement agencies for sharing law enforcement information. The Sheriff's Office brings this item to the Board ratifying the then-Assistant Sheriff John Zanoni's execution of the November 19, 2019 agreement between the law enforcement agencies. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

There is no viable alternative action. If the Board does not approve the recommend action, Sheriff's Office will not be able to share law enforcement information for ALPR with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office.

RETROACTIVE AGREEMENT

The recommended agreement is retroactive to November 19, 2019 to retroactively approve and ratify the signed Agreement between Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Office. The agreement was fully executed on November 19, 2019.
