SUBJECT: Approve revised Administrative Policy No. 80 - Department Contributions of Funds for Non-County Events or Causes
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve revised Administrative Policy No. 80 - Department Contributions of Funds for Non-County Events or Causes, which exempts departments with elected department heads from its requirements.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will revise Administrative Policy (AP) No. 80 to make an exception for departments with elected department heads. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board could choose to not approve the proposed revision to AP 80, which would then keep things as is and require all department heads, regardless of if they were appointed or elected, to follow the provisions of AP 80.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action, other than staff time.
DISCUSSION:
On July 8, 2025, your Board approved AP 80 - Department Contributions of Funds for Non-County Events or Causes. AP - 80 requires departments to obtain approval from the Board in the event the department seeks to contribute funds for non-County events, causes, or anything similar.
Approval of the recommended action will exclude departments led by elected department heads from the provisions of AP 80.
