SUBJECT: Budget Transfer for County Service Area No. 31

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Clerk of the Board to execute Budget Transfer No. 58 transferring FY 2022-23 appropriations within County Service Area No. 31 Org 9171 - Shaver Lake, from Account 8300 (Equipment) to 7220 (Maintenance-Building & Grounds) in the amount of $350,000.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow County Service Area No. 31 (CSA 31) to have additional appropriations available for other potential projects. The appropriations were originally allocated for the procurement of Capital Equipment that will no longer be purchased by CSA 31. This item pertains to a location in District 5.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If the recommended action is not approved, CSA 31 will not have additional appropriations available for other potential projects/expenditures.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will transfer $350,000 in budgeted appropriations from account 8300 (Equipment) to 7220 (Maintenance-Building & Grounds). Sufficient appropriations are included in the Department of Public Works and Planning's County Service Area No. 31 Org 9171 FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget.

DISCUSSION:

CSA 31 was formed in 1978 and from inception, has contracted with the Shaver Lake Civic League for fire protection and recreational facility services to the Shaver Lake Community. The funds were originally allocated to purchase a new fire engine for the Shaver Lake Volunteer Fire Department. CSA 31 will no longer be purchasing a new fire engine as the Shaver Lake Volunteer Fire Department is working with Cal-Fire and other entities to build a new type of fire engine/water tender specifically designed for the needs of the Shaver Lake Area.
