SUBJECT: Amendment to Master Agreement for Pump and Motor Repairs
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute First Amendment to Master Agreement No. 16-651 for pump and motor repairs to add Shaver Lake Construction, Inc., effective upon execution with no change in compensation amount or term to October 31, 2021 ($3,000,000).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action would add a contractor to the Master Agreement ensuring that County Service Area's (CSAs) and Waterworks District's (WWDs) water and wastewater systems have a contractor who can respond timely to emergency pump and motor repairs in the mountain area. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board could choose not to approve the recommended amendment; however, doing so would hinder the ability for pump and motor repairs to CSAs and WWDs water and wastewater systems in the mountain area, negatively affecting operations and increasing repair cost due to the significant travel distance for other existing contractors.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum annual compensation will remain at $600,000 with a maximum compensation for the full five-year term totaling $3,000,000. The Departments of Public Works and Planning and Internal Services which utilize the Master Agreement must have sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues to cover the cost of work requested before the work is initiated. If additional appropriations are required, staff of impacted Departments will return to your Board for approval. The Department of Public Works & Planning, Resources Division is also adding the Parks Section to the Agreement, Orgs. 7910 and 8867.
