RECOMMENDED ACTION:
TITLE
Approve the amended Bylaws for the Fresno County Employees Retirement Association
REPORT
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no additional net County cost associated with the recommended action.
DISCUSSION:
The Bylaws and Regulations (“Bylaws”) govern the affairs of FCERA and are the foundational documents upon which the Board’s Policies and Procedures are built. They were last amended by the Board of Retirement on November 4, 2015 and approved by the Board of Supervisors on December 8, 2015. The Bylaws must be approved by the Board of Supervisors in order for changes to take effect.
The Board of Retirement would like to more clearly outline the categories of trustees and provide for the ex-officio trustee to appoint a deputy to attend in the absence of the ex-officio member. As part of the review of the bylaws other ministerial changes and corrections were made.
This item was first heard by the Board of Retirement on April 4, 2018, and then again on April 18, 2018, where it was approved by the Board of Retirement for submission to the Board of Supervisors.
