RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve community outreach expenditure of $2,500 to support the Highway City Community Development, Inc. Heard It Through The Grapevine 5-K Fun Run event, per Administrative Policy No. 75.
REPORT
Approval of this item is for the expenditure of $2,500 to support the Highway City Community Development, Inc. (HCCD), Heard It Through The Grapevine 5-K Fun Run event at Kearney Park on Saturday, March 21, 2026. This item was approved by County Counsel as an appropriate expenditure as outlined in Administrative Policy No. 75.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board can choose not to authorize support of District 1 to the HCCD 5-K Fun Run event.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Sufficient appropriations are included in the Board of Supervisors Org 0110 FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget.
DISCUSSION:
On August 8, 2017, the Board approved Administrative Policy No. 75 to allow individual Supervisors to expend portions of their individual budgets for community outreach services and programs.
On March 11, 2025, your Board approved a revision to Administrative Policy No. 75 to require Board approval on non-county business donations in excess of $1,500.
HCCD is a nonprofit serving northwest Fresno with healthcare and other programs for the underserved population in the area. Approval of the recommended action will help HCCD to conduct its 5-K Fun Run event in Kearney Park.
This expenditure was sent to County Counsel for review and approval. County Counsel deemed it an appropriate expenditure under Administrative Policy No. 75 guidelines.
