SUBJECT: Donation of $5,000 to the Sheriff's Office from Valley Crime Stoppers and Budget Resolution and Transfer.
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt Resolution accepting and expressing gratitude for the monetary donation of $5,000 from Valley Crime Stoppers to purchase a canine for the Sheriff's Office during FY 2018-19;
2. Approve and authorize Clerk of the Board to execute Budget Transfer No. 6 ($1,500) transferring appropriations within the Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Org 3111, from Account 7070 (Household Expense) to Account 8300 (Equipment) for the purchase of a canine; and
3. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing the FY 2018-19 appropriations and estimated revenues for Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Org 3111 in the amount of $5,000 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. The recommended actions will allow the Sheriff's Office to accept a donation from Valley Crime Stoppers ($5,000) and for the transfer of appropriations ($1,500) to purchase a canine for the Sheriff's K-9 Unit during FY 2018-19. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may choose to not approve the recommended actions and the Sheriff's Office would not be able to purchase a canine for law enforcement services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the second recommended action will allow the transfer of FY 2018-19 recommended appropriations in the amount of ($1,500) within the Sheriff-Coroner Public Administrator's Org 3111 from account 7070 (Household Expense) to Account 8300 (Equipment). Approval of the third recommended action will increase the FY 2018-19 appropriations and estimated revenues for the Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Org 3111 in the amount of $5,000.
