SUBJECT: Resolution for Consolidation with the November 3, 2026 Statewide General Election
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt a Resolution approving the consolidation of elections called by the various cities, boards, school districts and independent special districts identified in the Resolution with the November 3, 2026 Statewide General Election.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will consolidate the elections called by the cities, boards, school districts and independent special districts included in the recommended Resolution (Requesting Jurisdictions), and allow these entities to participate in the November 3, 2026 Statewide General Election. Each Requesting Jurisdiction will be billed their pro-rata share of election costs. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There are no viable alternative actions. If the recommended action is not approved, the Requesting Jurisdictions will not be able to participate in the November 3, 2026 Statewide General Election.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Consolidation will increase the overall cost of the election, which will be shared by all entities involved in the election. The estimated cost of the November 3, 2026 Statewide General Election is $3,700,000, with anticipated offsetting revenue of $520,000 (14%). Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues will be included in the County Clerk-Elections Org 2850 FY 2026-27 Recommended Budget.
DISCUSSION:
The governing bodies of each of the following Requesting Jurisdictions have called for elections on November 3, 2026, requesting that your Board order the consolidation of their elections with the Statewide General Election:
City of Clovis
City of Coalinga
City of Firebaugh
City of Fowler
