SUBJECT: District Attorney Budget Adjustment for Vehicle Purchase
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve and authorize the Clerk of the Board to execute Budget Transfer No. 5 ($188,400) transferring FY 2018-19 appropriations within the District Attorney Org 2860, from Salaries and Benefits to account 7910 Operating Transfers Out for the purchase of vehicles; and
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2018-19 appropriations and estimated revenues for the Internal Services Department, Fleet Services-Equipment Org 8911 in the amount of $188,400 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions, which will utilize $188,400 in salary savings in District Attorney Org 2860 to purchase four vehicles and up-fitting of law enforcement equipment necessary to meet the District Attorney's Bureau of Investigations requirements. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended actions are not approved, the District Attorney will not be able to address vehicle needs for the department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the first recommended action is necessary to transfer District Attorney Org 2860, FY 2018-19 appropriations from Accounts 6400, 6500, and 6600 (Retirement, OASDI and Health Insurance) in the amount of $188,400 to Account 7910 (Operating Transfer Out) for the purchase of four new vehicles. The second recommended action increases appropriations and estimated revenues in Internal Services Department, Fleet Services-Equipment Org 8911 to facilitate the vehicle purchases for the District Attorney.
