SUBJECT: Agreement with Focus Forward
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2021-22 appropriations for Probation's Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act Fund 0271, Subclass 13020, Org 34370100 in the amount of $299,873 (4/5 vote);
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2021-22 appropriations and estimated revenues for Probation Org 3430 in the amount of $299,873 (4/5 vote); and
3. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Focus Forward for the provision of planned reentry programming, community and family support services for Probation-involved youth and their families, effective December 1, 2021 through November 30, 2026, not to exceed five consecutive years, which includes a three-year base contract and two optional one-year extensions, total not to exceed $2,611,560.
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions, as costs for the agreement will be funded with Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA) funds. Approval of the recommended actions will allow Focus Forward to provide planned reentry programming, community and family support services for Probation-involved youth and their families. The agreement maximum for each year is $522,312. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended actions No.'s 1 and 2 are not approved, the County would not have sufficient funds for the agreement. If the recommended action No. 3 is not approved, the County may have to complete another request for proposal, which could result in a delay in the provision of the aforementioned services to Probation-involved youth and their families, until such time that a new vendor is selected.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions, which will be funded by JJCPA and Local Innovation Subaccount funds, $299...
