Title: 1. RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a revenue Agreement with California Department of Public Health for one-time funding for the California Home Visiting Program - Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting to support home visiting activities that address the immediate needs of parents, children, and families related to the COVID-19 public health emergency, effective November 8, 2022 through September 30, 2023 ($112,523); and
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2022-23 appropriations and estimated revenues for the Department of Public Health Org 5620 in the amount of $112,523 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the first recommended action will provide the Department of Public Health (Department) with one-time California Department of Public Health (CDPH) funding for the California Home Visiting Program (CHVP) - Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV). The CHVP - MIECHV will utilize the funds to support expectant parents and families with young children to address additional needs that might have been introduced while managing through COVID-19 related situations. Approval of the second recommended action will increase the Department's appropriations and estimated revenues for FY 2022-23. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

There are no viable alternative actions. Should your Board not approve the recommended actions, the Department would not be able to accept this one-time CDPH funding and will not be able to provide additional supports to expectant parents and families with young children affected by COVID-19.
